Introducing the Brave Trails 2026 Camper Board: Elevating Camper Voices
Last year, we launched our first-ever Camper Board—and it was such a powerful success that we’re thrilled to bring it back for a second year! At Brave Trails, youth voices have always been at the center of our mission, and the Camper Board continues to be one of the most impactful ways we uplift, honor, and learn from our campers.
The Camper Board is a youth-led advisory group made up of passionate young leaders who help shape the future of Brave Trails programming. Throughout the year, board members will collaborate with our leadership team to share feedback, spark new ideas, and ensure our programs continue to reflect the needs, interests, and brilliance of LGBTQ+ youth.
Each camper selected has demonstrated deep commitment to our community, growing as leaders through their time at camp. This initiative is not just about listening to youth voices—it’s about partnering with them, valuing their lived experiences, and co-creating a camp environment where all campers can thrive.
What the Camper Board Will Do:
Share feedback on existing programs and help shape new offerings
Collaborate with staff to ensure activities and workshops meet camper needs
Bring unique perspectives on leadership development and community-building
Serve as ambassadors for Brave Trails throughout the year
The Camper Board embodies everything we strive for at Brave Trails: connection, leadership, collaboration, and empowerment. By giving campers a meaningful seat at the table, we’re strengthening our programs today and building leaders who will create change far beyond camp.
