GO TO CAMP
There’s nothing quite like being surrounded by people who get you. Each camp session brings together LGBTQ+ youth from all over the world — some new, some returning — all ready to connect. Between fun activities and welcoming cabin spaces, friendships form fast and last a lifetime. Come find your people (and maybe your future bestie!) at Brave Trails.
At Brave Trails, you never have to explain who you are or worry about being excluded. We celebrate every camper’s identity and expression. Everyone wears name tags with names and pronouns — which you can change anytime or swap for a fun camp name! Campers can explore our clothing and makeup closet, try new looks, or just rock a tutu because… why not? This is your space to be fully, joyfully YOU.
Traditional camps can be full of gendered rules and spaces — we’ve changed that. Our cabins are organized by age, not gender, and include private bathrooms for comfort and safety. Each cabin has two counselors who provide support and guidance. Campers are never required to share their gender identity — everyone gets to define what feels right for them.
At Brave Trails, you shape your own experience. Every day offers new activities — from creative arts to outdoor adventures, leadership workshops to pool time. We design all programs with LGBTQ+ youth in mind, like our inclusive pool policy where everyone wears both a top and bottom, regardless of gender identity, so everyone can swim with confidence and comfort.
Leadership is at the heart of Brave Trails. We believe LGBTQ+ youth already have the creativity, resilience, and courage to change the world — we just help them sharpen those skills. Through workshops, mentorship, and hands-on projects, campers discover their passions and learn how to make a positive impact in their communities.
Representation matters. Our staff are incredible LGBTQ+ role models who are passionate about guiding and supporting campers. They bring fun, heart, and experience to every day — because they’ve been where our campers are and know the power of being seen and celebrated.
We’re a tech-free camp — and most campers end up loving it! Without screens, connections grow stronger and laughter rings louder. Campers write letters home, and families can send messages through our daily-delivered camp mail system. Sometimes the best WiFi is a real-life connection.
From theme days to pride parades, Brave Trails runs on creativity and community spirit. Expect rainbows, laughter, and a touch of campy chaos! Whether you go all-out in costume or cheer from the sidelines, there’s a place for everyone in our celebration of queer joy.
Knowledge is empowerment! Our programs weave in LGBTQ+ history, identity exploration, intersectionality, consent, and self-care — topics that help campers understand who they are and the legacy they’re part of. Because when you know your story, you stand taller in your truth.
So many campers describe Brave Trails as “home” — a place where they feel seen, supported, and loved. The friendships and mentorships built here last far beyond summer. Between reunions, online programs, and year-round meetups, Brave Trails isn’t just a camp. It’s a lifelong community.
